The Emery/Weiner School
The Emery/Weiner School (“Emery” for short) is a private, co-educational, college-preparatory middle and high school located on 17 acres in SW Houston. We serve a diverse population of about 575 students, grades 6 through 12, who come from a wide variety of public and private schools. Our unique culture is characterized by joy, humor, high energy, informality and occasional irreverence – all of which help effectuate a seriousness of academic and ethical purpose. Small class sizes allow students to connect closely with their peers and teachers, while experiential learning - the cornerstone of our academic program - complements their classroom experience. Along with a host of extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities in visual and performing arts, competitive athletics, state-of-the-art technology, and student-run clubs, Emery students grow in confidence and competence while developing a strong sense of self and community. Our approach to religious and spiritual instruction exemplifies vigorous pluralism and embraces respectful disagreement. Emery students graduate with a profound sense of moral self-reliance, an awareness of and commitment to others, and the skills to confront real-world problems, self-advocate, and collaborate.
